The guys above are actually not Deadwood castoffs, but rather members of The Silent Comedy, a stylish six-piece band hailing from San Diego. Founded by brothers Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman, this band has since a recent surge in popularity as their tune "Bartholomew” can be heard in television promos for the History Channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys (which is brilliant by the way and features a lead character that closely resembles Mr. Ryan Gosling....just saying), but if this is the only song you've heard by these guys then you are missing out. The "whiskey-fueled gentlemen" above produce a genre-bending sound like no other. Think the theatrics of the Dresden Dolls mixed with the weirdness of Tom Waits topped off with the story telling abilities of Bob Dylan. Its high energy barn-burning cabaret rock. Let the show begin.
Before I sign off, allow me to congratulate Jessa from Caked Vintage, for winning the $50.00 Shabby Apple giftcard giveaway. Happy Dance Time! I'll be in touch shortly lady!
Hugs,
Amber

thank you for your lovely comment on my blog :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat band, Amber Girly Bird! "Bartholomew” kick-starts my heart. "Poison" kills! "'49" is a rip roaring number. "Moonshine" intoxicates with its 80s rock sensibilities. "Gasoline" fuels my fire. Thanks, dear friend Amber! Be sure to give Kevin his props this Father's Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteOoooh what a photo! I love creative people like that ;)
