You are not looking at a giant pool of Pepto Bismol, but rather Lake Retba or Lac Rose, Senegal's naturally occurring pink lake.  Naturally occurring?  Yes, naturally occurring. Allow me to go all Bill Nye for second and explain this phenomenon.  You see due to the lake's incredibly high salt content, the water has become the prime breeding ground for dunaliella saline, a micro-algae that gives the lake its pink hue.  If that's too much to take in, just know its a lake, its pink, and its pretty.  Oh nature, you never cease to amaze me. Now if you and the universe could conspire together to get me to win the lottery so I could travel to all your glorious creations, that would be great.
