Today's band comes to us all the way from Copenhagen (that's in Denmark in case you were wondering) and features one of my favorite front ladies Mette Lindberg. This little firecracker was featured in Lucky magazine back in 2009 for her glitzy/girlie rock style and stole the heart of this fashion lover. When I later googled/cyber-stalked her I became equally smittened with her band The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. This Danish ensemble stirs up a delicious goulash of candy coated psychedelic glam pop propelled by Lindberg's childlike vocals which you are either going to equate to an eargasm or nails on a chalkboard. Her voice really is that polarizing, but for music lovers who enjoy a little uniqueness in their sound this may be just the band for you.

I was hungry, Amber Girly Bird... make that STARVING for a delicious goulash of candy coated psychedelic glam pop. TAGT satisfied my craving! I experienced three big E's (eargasms) listening to the first track alone! I love Mette's childlike voice which also sounds like she's holding her nose shut while singing. She kinda reminds me of Millie Small who sang "My Boy Lollipop." I love the band's exuberant sound and I could totally listen to them all day long. I defy anyone to stay depressed while listening to TAGT. Thank you very kindly, dear friend Amber, and have a safe and happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteThis was the first time that I didn't read your post before I hit play and yes, as soon as I heard the vocals my eyes almost bulged out of my head. I was like, "Wait, WHAT?!" But I stuck through instead of immediately clicking out and read your post. "Nails on a chalkboard" it was, haha, at first. But Mikey came out of his room and asked what I was listening to. I was like, "I dunno" but he smiled and started doing this sort of jazzy stroll mixed with the moonwalk and we were laughing so hard! So yeah, it grew on me just like that. Plus I like the other songs better than the first one. Very fun band! I picture listening to this with a car full of bad ass chicks. Maybe we're drunk. Maybe we're not.
