Natalie Portman once said she hated studying, but loved learning. I agree with that statement except I would change the words studying to working and learning to getting paid. It's not that I don't like my job (it can actually be quite enjoyable at times), it's more of the act of getting off my ass and going to work that I dread. Usually before jumping in my car to whiz off to the office, I blog a little and maybe pin a little and maybe tweet a little and then there comes a time, usually about ten minutes before I have to run out the door, when I think "you know I could just stay home today." Oh the temptation of putting my pajamas back on is hard to resist, but alas money makes the world go round and until I figure out a way to get paid for watching Honey Boo Boo Child, I'll just have to keep moseying on with the other nine to five drones. Adulthood sure isn't what its all cracked up to be.

I just got back into the 9-5 game after all those glorious years as a grad student and it's officially kicking my ass. I wish I looked as cheerful as you...

Hooray for the red, yellow and blue, Amber Girly Bird! I'm feelin' ya. I'm sitting here in my Woody Woodpecker trapdoor pajamas eating Rice Krispies soaked in PBR and trying to decide if I really feel like addressing the United Nations today or just staying home and watching the Jim Backus movie marathon on TCM. You guys picked a lovely setting for today's photo shoot. I remember that nursery greenhouse from a previous post and you look gorgeous framed in flowers and foliage. Have a delightful day, dear friend Amber!
ReplyDeleteI had a week a and a half off & it's been rough getting back into it.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit :) I get what you mean about being adult. I always wanted to grow up and now I am not so sure. Working full time is hard work and leaves little time for anything. Glad I've planned my escape and going to travel, maybe go back to uni, etc.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yup, I feel your pain! I actually have a pretty cushy, low-stress job. The problem is, as long as I have the vacation, I actually can wake up and say "You know, I don't want to go in today!" and it would be fine. It's soooo much harder to resist temptation that way. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this look.
ReplyDeleteOh man,I feel you girl! Except my job gives us money for not calling off sick, a little bonus at the end of the year. My only motivation.
ReplyDeleteI am loving these colors! I have a dress a little like this skirt, bright lace is awesome!
haha So true! It always amazes me how fast time goes by when you have somewhere you do not want to go! Love the outfit... I am totally craving spring now! xo

I feel ya... it's even harder when I'm at work and I know that the only way to make money is to take large tables, even though I don't like taking large tables. Grr.
ReplyDeleteyou are looking lovely and colourful and very in keeping with your floral surroundings! Oh man I have one of those days at least once a week, sometimes all you want is to get back into comfy pjs and watch some crappy daytime tv! bring on my next week off work!
ReplyDeleteEmma x
this looks so lovely! i always feel the same about leaving the house when i have to go to university/work or sometimes going out with friends when i just simply can't be bothered. usually once you're there it's not too bad, but getting there is all the effort.

I wore something sort of similar this week: a blue skirt, yellow top, and red cardi. Twins!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the questions :)
if you EVER figure out how to get paid for watching honey boo boo i want in.
ReplyDeletePlease, if you ever figure out how to get paid for doing what I now do all day - blogging, pinning, tweeting and shamefacedly watching Honey Boo Boo videos online - I need to know your secret! Love this colour combination :)
ReplyDeletexox,

I'm loving the bright colors of this outfit!
ReplyDeleteFuck adulthood, for sure. And I won't even start about money. On a much lighter note, I just heard about honey boo boo child a couple of days ago and I am so intrigued (and disgusted at myself for being intrigued)

i love ur yellow skirt!! so pretty!
ReplyDeleteJust think of work as a reason to get dressed, and without it you'd have no blog because you'd only wear pajamas.
ReplyDeleteand if you only wore pajamas, then we'd never see such cute things like a lace yellow skirt.
silver lining. bam.
