That Went Well

Trying to adjust to the world after being on vacation for a week was not easy, but somehow I managed to work though my honky-tonk withdrawals and survive those first five days back at work.  The only thing that really kept me from hightailing it back to Nashville was the knowledge that come Sunday, Kevin and I would be fine dining at a schmancy restaurant where I could show off my new vintage inspired eShakti dress (I get so few chances to be appropriately dressed as opposed to massively over dressed).  This dress was pretty even in it's shiny plastic packaging, but add this dress, one dangerous ironing session (word of advice, don't iron a dress that you are already wearing, even if taking if off means smudging your make up and/or flattening your hair), and one dainty gal and you've got yourself a recipe for a happy lady. I even got a "you look pretty" from my husband which is a rarity in my world despite the fact that I always look pretty (duh).

If you would be so kind as to let me kiss some more eShakti butt just a little while longer as they really deserve every praise they are about to get. I've worked with eShakti in the past and have expressed my desire for their shop to expand their collection of prints.  Well someone must've been listening cause the site is now exploding with whimsical butterfly patterns and classic floral jacquard prints (all of which can be customized to fit your exact measurements).  Its definitely a shop worth checking out if you like pretty dresses at reasonable prices and really who doesn't enjoy that?

Hugs,

  1. I assure you, Amber Girly Bird, that I never iron my dresses while wearing them. I got burned once - never again! You look cute as a button in this picture set. That's a lovely shade of green, the hair pin is a nice touch and Kevin's choice of a natural, earth tone background makes you pop. I hope your week's off to a fabulous start, dear friend. See you soon!

  16. I have a love/hate relationship with eShakti. I have one dress from them that I adore. But I did another review for them in which the dress I received was way too large despite the fact that I chose my normal size and another that was too small... again, despite the fact that I chose my normal size. So it's hard for me to want to work with a company that only scored a 1 out of 3.

HOWEVER, you look gorgeous in that dress! I love the color!

Do you even have ANY idea how amazing YOU + THIS DRESS are?!! Kevin better bring you in real close because you are bound to get cupid-kidnapped in this baby. Yowza! You look straight out of Mad Men and I really, really like that. ♥

P.s. I checked them out the first time you did your review and I remember they didn't have much of a selection but I'm soo checking them out again. I can start a new wishlist with them (I have a ton of wishlists going on right now since I'm poor)!

  20. Well, I have never tried ironing my dress while wearing it, and I'll probably never try it anyway :) I hope no major damage was done!
That dress is so so pretty, and of course, you always look pretty (your husband needs a little reminder from time to time :) I love the beautiful color and pretty detailing. You look fantastic!

  22. How freaking cute are you?! Way too cute FYI! And I totally relate, I am over dressed 99% of the time. I think it makes people uncomfortable sometimes, but let's get real, I don't care :) And Eshakti, they have such gorgie gorg dressed, I can't even handle it! I want one super bad, especially seeing you rock this amazing one!

  23. Ugh, I was in work today after bring off for 11 days, it's actually not fair how horrible going back to work is after being off, although not as bad as going back to school, at least with work we get paid! This dress is one of my favourites I've ever seen on you. The shape and colour are so perfect on you! Beautiful milady!
