Once the weather starts to turn cold, so too does my mood and with it my musical tastes. No longer do I turn to the upbeat breezy sounds of summer, but rather to the dark haunting acoustics of fall with its drawn out nights and chilly days. The below mix best encapsulates my musical fervor at the moment which I've dubbed "doom balladry." The name alone should alert you to the fact that this mix will not leave you with kittens and rainbows in your heart unless those kittens happen to be black and those rainbows are dripping acid rain. Its not a feel good mix, but it is the perfect companion for a late night Fall fest.
Hugs,
Amber

You're Mistress of the Dark, Amber Girly Bird! This is indeed a marvelous music mix for the cooler days and nights of autumn. I just finished listening to it while tossing a beach ball around in the pool and getting some blessed relief from the unrelenting Florida sun. Wish you were here! Thanks for the aural delights, dear friend Amber, and have a safe and happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love XX, it's interesting to hear how many times people take "Intro" and turn it into some else.
ReplyDeleteLife in Mono. I have not listened to that in years, not since 2009, actually. I'm not sure why, it's such a cool track.
Chic on the Cheap

I'll have to check out this playlist some time, but right now it is a sunny bright afternoon and it just doesn't seem fitting.
ReplyDeleteTotal loving this playlist, you're a music genius.
ReplyDeletePretty playlist!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of these "dark haunting acoustics of Fall" - you perfectly described this sound and the way I feel about my music when the weather turns cold. That's why I love Beach House so much; their haunting sound just transfers through all the seasons. It's particularly lovely on these cold morning and late night drives.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the introduction to a new, great band.
