Weak In The Knees: Trespassers William

 Image Via: Here

Coldly beautiful perfectly sums up the sound created by today's featured band, Trespassers William.  With their dreamy emo rock riffs and hauntingly romantic lyrics, one might get a very strong Mazzy Star vibe which would make sense since Trespassers William's first album dropped in the late nineties when listless misery was at its peak.  But unlike Mazzy Star, this band has fully realized their vision making for a more well rounded listening experience. Like Mazzy Star, however, the star of the show is vocalist Anna-Lynne Williams or more importantly her delicately alluring windpipes. Williams' voice makes you feel things (like feelings, so many feelings).  Listen to these tracks when its rainy out and you're bundled in a warm blanket, when you need a little "me" time, when you have a box of kleenex and a plate of warm cookies nearby.  Listen to these tracks when you are ready to make the transition from radio friendly garbage to good music worthy of your precious time.

Hugs,

Amber

  1. Who needs top 40 toe tappers, Amber Girly Bird? Not you! Not me! Listless misery will never go out of style thanks to folks like us and Trespasses William. While listening to these awesome TW tracks I followed your advice, grabbed a box of Kleenex, rolled up in the fetal position, whimpered and cried, sucked my thumb, bit my nails, smokum my peace pipe and inhaled a half gallon of Häagen-Dazs and three tubes of raw cookie dough. Thanks for the music, dear friend Amber. Happy Black Friday to you and I hope you, Kevin, Oliver and Cassie have a very enjoyable weekend!

  5. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for sharing this band with us. Of course I automatically loved them even before pushing play because their name was taken from Winnie-the-Pooh... but my love only increased once I started listening!
