It was one year ago that the bloggers of Connecticut gathered together and paraded around the city of New Haven snapping photos and soaking in each others weird fascination with all things fashion. This past Saturday marked our second meet up and saw us shopping in downtown West Hartford, gobbling up crepes at a local french cafe, and small talking our way into new friendships (awww). Allow me to introduce my fellow CT bloggers and new best friends (we're best friends now, right?)
Megan from Closet Fashionista
Well she still doesn't eat cheese and/or whipped cream, but she will make you feel better about eating a chocolate crepe at two in the afternoon when everyone else has ordered real food like mature adults. She's also my fashion soul mate has we both wore our Jason Wu for Target pieces. I'm not gonna partake in that whole "who wore it better" nonsense, but clearly Megan won here and by "won" I mean she lost cause this is my blog and I always wear it better. Just kidding. ;)
Courtney from Sartorial Sidelines
Ah, my Canadian bad-ass. Sadly this lady will be leaving the great state of Connecticut (did those words just come out of my mouth) for her homeland in a matter of days. So listen up Canada. Someone better give her a dam good teaching position worthy of her knowledge cause lord knows if she had been a professor of mine in college I most certainly would have enjoyed class more and not seen it as a place to nurse my hangovers.
Bethany from More Fruit Please
Bethany was a new addition to our group this year and while I had wild dress envy for her Anthropologie number, I managed to contain my jealousy and found her to be a true delight.....with the option of being ten times as delightful when she lets me raid her closet. Hit a girl up!
Christine from Dela Chic
Hey hey! I've nicknamed this lady "Kathie Lee" cause girlfriend needs her wine. I've also nicknamed myself "Hoda" in the hopes that when she needs a drinking partner she'll call me up (so here's my number, call me maybe?)
Lyddie from Chic On The Cheap
May I present our resident photographer, Lyddie (insert hoots and hollers). We all have her to thank for initiating the meet up and I personally have her to thank for all the photos you've seen as I decided to be a lazy bum and bring my rinky dink camera that only takes one good photo per seventy-five shots. Thank you Lyddie!
Amber from the blog you are reading right now
I tried my hardest to mask my socially awkwardness and I think I may have fooled these ladies into believing I'm half way normal...and even if I didn't I still scored a pretty scarf and metallic flats, so yeah mission accomplished either way.
Hugs,
Amber

love that you connected with the CT fashion bloggers once again!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable as always, dear Amber, but I can smell your fear from 1,000 miles away. Ya know, I've been following your blog for a long time. (It'll be exactly 25 years in August). I remember last year's Connecticut get-together and I'm happy to know that it's become an annual event. I feel like I know a few of these lovely ladies by now just from reading their comments three times a week on your blog. I love you all! (Debby says "hello!")
ReplyDeleteHaha, we are definitely best friends ;) And don't worry I'm socially challenged too....we hide it so well ;)
ReplyDelete(and you totally won the Jason Wu challenge)
