Karma Police

Continuing on with the crapastic weekend, after coming home Saturday with a mass of lovely purple bruises on my leg, Kevin and I decided to refrain from any further activities that might result in first aid treatment and plopped down to watch the film The Magdalene Sisters.  Its a heartwarming tale about three young girls who are sent to the Magdalene Asylums to repent for their crimes of being a rape victim, having a child out of wedlock, and flirting with boys (gasp).  To say it portrays the Catholic Church in a negative manner is an understatement and just when it seemed that the ladies were going to escape their slave like surroundings the dvd decided to crap out resulting in about twenty minutes of the movie being lost (I was about ready to eat a baby at this point). To ease my unhappy mood, Kevin offered to take me out to a nice dinner so instead of hurling the dvd player out of the window, I got dressed up for a night out.  As any blogger can attest too, once you're dolled up you have to take pictures so an impromptu photo session was planned only someone forgot to tell the weather cause I was only able to sneak in one semi-decent shot before it started to rain. Honestly, wtf karma?

Let it be known that the night at least ended on a high note directly related to the three vodka tonics I had at dinner.  Cause that's what happens when things don't go my way, I give up and drink.

Hugs,

Amber

  1. Instant Karma's gonna getcha, Amber Girly Bird! Same thing happened to me over the weekend. I was halfway thru a delightful Olsen Twins romp entitled When in Rome. Suddenly, without warning, the disc froze and refused to budge an inch. I never did find out if Mary-Kate and Ashley found true romance in The City of Fountains. (Don't be a spoiler. I just ordered another copy of the flick from Amazon.) My dear, I'm sorry you endured another series of calamities. If you only had time to snap one pic before the great monsoon of 2012 began then you managed a superb shot and you look smart and sexy as always. Have a better day today, okay???

  2. haha, i'm glad you went out for dinner instead of causing someone an injury. i do hate it when that happens, it's usually when i'm streaming some tv show online and my internet cuts out. i could kick a kitten, i really could (probably wouldn't though). lovely outfit, btw :)

  4. I've heard that film is pretty good...but it sounds like I need to work up some energy before I watch it! Also, I really love this outfit on you, the necklace is a great addition.

  6. wait, how did you get those bruises? is it from the fall? my poor delicate amber!!!! i hate when dvd's crap out, what is the point of them, they scratch sooo easily, everything should just be streamed from netflix, makes waaay more sense plus less crap to throw in the land fill. i am glad kevin took you out to dinner and you got your drank on.

  10. Amber, I adore your style! I often find that I take a long time putting together an outfit. How long do you usually take to get dressed in the morning?

    You're so adorable!

  13. I'll see your vodka tonics and raise you a jug of long island iced teas! My Saturday night was probably a lot less graceful than yours! I blame Donnacha's bad cocktail measurements! You're looking so lovely for your dinner date! I love the pop of colour with the necklace! I hope the vodka tonics made everything better! ;)

  16. You and me both do that "give up and drink" thing. *twins*

Sorry your dvd decided to take a shit. I've never heard/seen that movie but I love movies like that. I'm gonna have to check netflix or my friend upstairs large dvd collection. Have you ever seen Sleepers? It's not the same as this one you've mentioned but it's so good. It came out when we were kids. You should see it if you haven't.

Anywho, you look super hot in your dinner outfit! What a classy look. I love how that green necklace gives this grown up ensemble that perfect amount of playfulness.
