In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. In 2012, I am celebrating this expedition by sleeping in late and watching season one of Homeland till my eyes bleed (clearly the best use of my time). Because couch potatoing is best done in a ladybug robe (this has actually been proven by science), may I present my weekend outfit entitled "Yes I know its cold out, but I'm gonna wear shorts anyway." This is one of those outfits that I loved as soon as I put it on (comfy Oasap shorts, Wendy Peppercorn sunnies, what's not to love?), but the autumn morning chill made it all kinds of impractical. I grinned and dealt with the goosebumps for these shots (even trying to partake in a skipping rocks contest with Kevin), but sadly I had to change into jeans for the rest of the day. I can feel the disdain for the Connecticut weather swelling inside me already.

Yessum, Amber Girly Bird. This marks the start of nine solid months of bitching before warm weather returns to you there in the frozen North Country, the land above the Arctic Circle. The frost is on the pumpkin here in Florida, too. Last night the mercury plunged below 90. That's a very pretty outfit and I thank you for braving the elements to show it to us. Have a wonderful week, dear Amber!

ReplyDeleteUgh, I had to work today. So lame. AND THEN I wanted to go to the bank but the banks are closed =-(
ReplyDeleteI sort of dislike Columbus Day.
Look at all of the colors!!! I love this outfit! To bad you couldn't sport the shorts all day. The weather is wacky right now, but soon it'll just be cold. Yay, I'll get to layer!

I was wondering how it was warm enough for you to be wearing shorts, but it wasn't. I tend to do the same thing with open-toed shoes toward the end of winter/beginning of spring.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Sandlot reference in this post totally made my day. :-)
Can we talk about how much I love those loafers? Because it's not an insignificant amount.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I was wearing shorts and today I'm wearing a coat. Craziness over here!!
ReplyDeleteWEll the weather must be at least a smidge warmer wherever you're at :) Those shorts make me jealous, esp with the cute pattern. And have fun on your day off.

I have been donning the same type of clothing here lately when we get those spurts of sunny days between the cold, wet ones. And seriously?! Those are the best Wendy Peffercorn sunnies ever! A perfect match indeed. P.s. are you calling her Peppercorn because it's funny to call her that (I used to, too) or because you thought that was her last name? hahaha Don't worry I'm not being a dick. I just used to think her name was Peppercorn, but I thought the kids pronounced it wrong in the movie when they called her Peffercorn, buuut then googled it one day and saw that it is in fact Peffercorn. Am I making any sense right now? Because I kinda want to just delete all this and pretend I never said anything. P.p.s. I am aww'ing over that first shot of you. You look all kinds of cute and happy. Let me know if you ever wanna get rid of those shoes.
ReplyDeleteI am ALL for holding onto summer for... forever. And I really love the orange on yellow on grey polkadots.
ReplyDeleteI love your retro outfit all the items are perfect together.
